Photographer Crush: Gregory Crewdson

This photographer crush began well back in my uni days. Crewdson’s book ‘Twilight’ was a huge influence on my own work. I loved the ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ references. Everything about these photos appeals to me, the suburban mundane settings, people behaving oddly, the twilight light and use of ambient street lights. I like that he was creating a film still, you just get to see one frame of the scene. His photos give me a sense of danger and make me curious.
